Cake! (I'd Rather Not) 11.29.19 / 6.12.20
Happiness; in a slice of cake.
But instead of cutting it, sometimes,
I'd rather stab my throat a couple of times instead of finding out how sweet it could be or,
how bad the after-taste could be- I'd rather not.
I'd rather stay on this side of the table;
at least I know the rules.
I'll pass my slice of cake,
I'd rather see somebody else enjoy it, or not, I'm fine.
I'd rather leave my heart out to dry
then to have it stepped on.
For it to stop working on its own than to someone fuck it up,
not knowing how to use it.
I wish I was a homeless man;
no worries; sleep when I wanted to;
no expectations from anybody.
But if I was, I'd probably be begging for a piece of cake,
but, I'd rather not.
